Your UJS Web Portal account
Signing Up- The UJS Portal contains both public and secure (non-public) features. You do not need an account if you only want to pay traffic tickets, costs, fines, or restitution via PAePay, make a bail payment using PAePay Bail, or view public docket sheets. All of these features are available to the public. Only secure features, such as PACFile (online case filing), the Guardianship Tracking System, and Attorney Registration, require the creation of a UJS Portal account.
Do I need to create a UJS Portal account? Please refer to the step-by-step instructions for creating a UJS Portal account. For your convenience, a short video is also available that explains this process.
Each resource covers the same information.
How do I create a UJS Portal account?Yes. Part of the process of creating a UJS Portal account is choosing a username. A username is not assigned to you. It can be almost anything you choose, but cannot be your e-mail address, match any existing username, or contain any spaces or special characters (ex. !@#$%^&).
If a username is already in use, a warning message will appear when you try to continue to the next screen. You can either make a change to the username you entered or choose an entirely different one.

Roles provide unique privileges on the UJS Portal that are targeted to the needs of certain groups.
Attorneys, police officers, and guardians if incapacitated persons, signing up for an account should always add the role that corresponds with their occupation.
If you are not an attorney, police officer, or guardian, do not attempt to add a role. The benefits associated with these roles have no value to anyone outside of these groups.
Roles can be added to existing accounts through the Manage My Account screen. Step-by-step instructions are available if you need help completing this process.

The Shopping Cart- You must select the empty checkbox that appears to the left of your docket number or payment plan number. This selection means that you want to pay on the corresponding case or payment plan and enables the ADD TO CART button.I found my case or payment plan but the ADD TO CART button is disabled. Why?
In this instance, the Amount to Pay field in the Shopping Cart automatically displays the total amount that is owed by the end of the current installment period.
For example, assume that a payment plan starts in January for a person who owes $100 every month. If that person is attempting to make a payment in January, the Amount to Pay field will show $100. If that person does not pay the required $100 by January 31st, then on February 1st the Amount to Pay field will show $200. The $200 represents the total amount that is owed by the end of the current installment period (February). In these instances, the amount owed represents multiple installment payments, not a late fee. The maximum payment amount for any PAePay transaction is $2500, so this field will never exceed this limit even if a greater amount is actually owed.
You can change the Amount to Pay field to whatever you want to pay, but it is your responsibility to ensure that payments are paid in full and on-time.
I am paying on a payment plan and the Amount to Pay field displays more than I want to pay. This message is a warning that you owe more than the amount entered in the Amount to Pay field. Checkout- Why is my payment being declined or not going through?
- Many payment issues are caused by an Address Verification System (AVS) mismatch. This means your billing address does not match what your credit/debit card issuer has on file. The billing address you enter must match what your bank has on file exactly. Typically, this should match the address that appears on statements you receive for the card. Check for the following:
- Street address and zip code
- Correct use of abbreviations (ex. St. vs. Street)
- Extra spaces and missing punctuation
- Missing suite or apartment number (if applicable)
Tip: If the address you're entering is saved on your device, do not use the auto-fill functionality. Type the address instead.Note: Some prepaid or gift cards may not be supported.Check & Correct Your Address and Try Again- If your card is declined again, contact the bank that issued the card and verify the address they have on file. If the address the bank provides is different, attempt the transaction again with the updated information.
OR- Try submitting the transaction again using a different credit or debit card. The same address requirements apply.

How do I create a UJS Portal account?
The Attorney Annual Registration application is accessed under the My Services menu, which appears between Home and Case Information options. If this menu does not display, or the Attorney Annual Registration option is not available within this menu, there are two common causes:
- Attorneys that are new to the Pennsylvania bar, who have not previously completed registration online, have not associated the “Attorney” role to their Web Portal account. Roles are used to confirm an individual’s identity, notably as a Pennsylvania Bar attorney, and confers unique security privileges including access to the Attorney Annual Registration application. This role can be applied to an account through the Manage My Account screen. Step-by-step instructions are available to assist with adding a role.
- Circumstances exist where attorneys with existing Web Portal accounts, who have previously completed the registration process online, inadvertently create a second account. Without the “Attorney” role, these secondary accounts do not permit access to the Attorney Annual Registration application. In this instance, you should attempt to log in to your original account and, if necessary, use the forgot my password and/or forgot my username options to recover your login credentials.
I am logged into my account. Why can’t I access the Attorney Annual Registration application?

Troubleshooting the RegistrationYou must be logged into your UJS Portal account in order to see this option.
If you are logged in and cannot see this option, it is typically because you do not have the 'Attorney' role associated to your UJS Portal account. Step-by-step instructions are available if you need assistance associating this role to your account.
